Bankroll
The total amount set aside for play. Bankroll management is deciding how much of it to risk per bet and per session.
In context
A $500 bankroll at $5 a bet is 100 bets; at $25 it is 20. The number of bets, not the dollar figure, decides how long a session lasts.
Did you know
The word comes from the literal roll of banknotes a 19th-century gambler carried; “bankroll” as a verb, to finance someone, is a later Americanism.
